Microsoft makes plans to buy Yahoo

Microsoft want to buy Yahoo again? Microsoft has been in talks with Yahoo! about potentially acquiring a major portion of the company, according to a report published Wednesday.
Almost a year ago, the two companies were reportedly in talks about a merger, but those conversations were dismissed as rumors and speculation. Well, here’s Microsoft and Yahoo 2.0.
A pairing in the spirit of a superhero teamup could happen if the latest chatter about Yahoo and Microsoft proves true. Once again, a potential merger is being considered, as neither company has made gains against Google’s search and advertising dominance.

A good news from Google at the end of April 2007, Google launches the iGoogle Gadget Maker, and the Google Personalized Homepage will be rebranded as iGoogle and will let you build your own gadgets using wizards. The gadgets are very simple and are more like containers for things that matter to you: photos, videos, events.
“Once the gadget is created, you can invite other people to view & use the gadget, and make it publicly available for other people to view & use it.” So whatever you choose to add to a gadget will be visible to the people you invited.

Google beat Microsoft as World’s Most Visited Site

The most popular search engine Google become the most visited site now, surpasses the Microsoft.
Following news from sfgate.com:
The Mountain View search engine has outstripped Microsoft on two fronts, becoming both the most visited Web site and the most valuable global brand.
The events are major milestones for Google, which has grown into a business juggernaut. Torrid growth and outsized profits have quickly propelled the company past many established blue clip giants while generating a host of complaints that it has become too powerful.
“These are really significant events,” said Geoffrey Bowker, executive director of the Center for Science, Technology and Society at Santa Clara University. “At the moment, everything that Google is touching turns to gold.”
